What we Don’t Accept
No Refrigerants
Appliances, such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners must be certified as having all CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) properly reclaimed before you bring the appliance in to OWC.
No PCBs
OWC will not accept any capacitors, transformers, ballasts or other items featuring enclosed reservoirs that contain PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls) liquids or residues.
Closed and/or Sealed Containers
No fire extinguishers, propane tanks, refrigerant tanks, oxygen tanks or other such pressurized or nonpressurized vessels, unless emptied and cut with a hole allowing the internal chamber to be visually inspected.
No Drums
We will accept drums that have been sufficiently cleaned.
All drums must be without chemicals, residual liquids, or contaminants.
Electronics
Electronics including TV’s, microwaves, computers and more are accepted at our facility on Veterans Memorial Parkway East. Lean more including what electronics we accept, hours of operation, and fees here:
No Radioactive Materials
Oscar Winski Company utilizes a radiation detection system on-site, all material is checked before as vehicles cross over our weight scale.
No Fluorescent Lighting Fixtures
Flourscent lighting contains chemicals and materials we arent equipped to process.
Non-Metalic Items
No wood, cardboard, plastic, or other non-metallic items are accepted. Check with the county solid waste management district for proper recycling of these items.
