RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Complete Integrity Selling training
    • Following Integrity Selling process daily
  • Research, locate and make initial contact with prospective accounts
  • Qualify prospective accounts based upon products purchased, volume potential and ability to pay within terms
  • Complete Customer Account Profiles accurately and completely
  • Communicate customer specifications to customer service via CPS data spreadsheets
  • Maintain repetitive call schedule with both prospect and existing accounts
  • In November, provide the VP of Sales with a detailed sales forecast for the following year.  Forecast should include existing business, new business with existing accounts, and new prospects.  All forecasts will include growth in sales and margin dollars, to be agreed upon with the VP of Sales
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and margin forecast
  • Provide updates during weekly staff meetings of actual sales track versus forecasted sales
  • Communicate any problems or rejections in a timely fashion to management and provide timely responses to customers
  • Work with Lafayette Steel A/R and customer A/P to expedite payment issues and problems
  • Provide Purchasing Manager and VP of Sales with purchasing requirements for customer “special” items not sold from standard stock
  • Provide Production Planners and VP of Sales with target stocking levels for all customer special items
  • Monitor all customer special stock items and “bought for” stock to maintain a minimum of (4) turns per year.  Deal with obsolete inventory items by selling to that specific customer or working to reapply or sell elsewhere
  • Quoting
    1. During first year as District Sales Manager, communicate all requests for quotation to VP of Sales or Inside Sales Manager for help with quoting.
    2. During second year and beyond, prepare quotes for items in stock and submit to customers, copying VP of Sales.  Work with VP of Sales to prepare all contract agreements or quotes where inventory must be purchased specifically for the order.
    3. ALL quotes should be prepared and submitted to customers in a timely fashion.  Quotes for standard items should be completed and submitted to customers on same day as RFQ; contracts and non-standard items should be completed and submitted to customers within one week of RFQ.
    4. Provide detailed feedback of quotation results to VP of Sales.
  • Entertain existing and prospect accounts with lunches, dinners, events and other entertainment in a manner appropriate to the potential volume of business.

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Metallurgy or an area of study related to metals.

 

Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Customer Service Representative or Outside Sales Representative in a Metal Service Center is required.

We are seeking a Class A/B CDL driver to pickup and transport scrap metals coming from manufacturers and producers throughout the region (generally within Indiana) and deliver to various locations. This is a second shift job beginning at 5 p.m.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available.

This job requires exposure to weather elements while operating roll off trucks, multiple axle dump trailers and lug box carriers. The job is primarily independent with direction provided by the Logistics Manager or shift supervisor. 

Job Requirements:

  • Class A/B CDL license
  • High school diploma or Graduate Equivalent
 

 

Shear Operator – 2nd shift

 

We are looking to fill a second shift position for a Shear Operator. The Shear Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of the shears. They are responsible for accurately and efficiently producing products to customer requirements and standards provided on the work order. The operator is responsible for completing all equipment safety checks before use.

 

Additional duties include:

  • Control the cutting of parts using a shear and make measurements
  • Check flatness, thickness, and rust/cleanliness
  • Keep machine maintained with lubricants, rust-oleum, and other products

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process work orders from operating system
  • Measure materials before and after using tape measures, calipers, and steal squares
  • Oversee Operator Helper working on the hoist and handling scrap
  • Replace parts as necessary, such as blade bolt
  • Operate machine from the work area
  • Label and package finished products
  • Report to supervisor when supplies are low

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Must have the ability to effectively read a tape measure
  • Must have the ability to proactively maintain machine
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Good math, verbal, mechanical, and analytical skills
  • Must have the ability to work on a team as well as independently
  • Basic computer and printer use
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Must be able to work safely, watch out for the safety of others and maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.), preferred
  • Prior experience working in manufacturing, preferred
  • Prior experience with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and scales is preferred

Education:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
