Class A/B CDL Drivers

Flexible hours required

We are seeking a Class A/B CDL driver to pick-up and transport scrap metals coming from manufacturers and producers throughout the region (generally within Indiana) and deliver to various locations. This is a second shift job, typically working Monday – Friday from 5pm – 3am and occasional Saturday hours. However, based upon customer production, flexibility is required as the schedule and work days may shift to Tuesday-Friday or Wednesday-Saturday from 5 p.m. – 5 a.m. on an interim basis.

JOB SETTING: This job requires exposure to weather elements while operating roll off trucks, multiple axle dump trailers and lug box carriers. The job is primarily independent with direction provided by the Logistics Manager. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Complete Integrity Selling training
    • Following Integrity Selling process daily
  • Research, locate and make initial contact with prospective accounts
  • Qualify prospective accounts based upon products purchased, volume potential and ability to pay within terms
  • Complete Customer Account Profiles accurately and completely
  • Communicate customer specifications to customer service via CPS data spreadsheets
  • Maintain repetitive call schedule with both prospect and existing accounts
  • In November, provide the VP of Sales with a detailed sales forecast for the following year.  Forecast should include existing business, new business with existing accounts, and new prospects.  All forecasts will include growth in sales and margin dollars, to be agreed upon with the VP of Sales
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and margin forecast
  • Provide updates during weekly staff meetings of actual sales track versus forecasted sales
  • Communicate any problems or rejections in a timely fashion to management and provide timely responses to customers
  • Work with Lafayette Steel A/R and customer A/P to expedite payment issues and problems
  • Provide Purchasing Manager and VP of Sales with purchasing requirements for customer “special” items not sold from standard stock
  • Provide Production Planners and VP of Sales with target stocking levels for all customer special items
  • Monitor all customer special stock items and “bought for” stock to maintain a minimum of (4) turns per year.  Deal with obsolete inventory items by selling to that specific customer or working to reapply or sell elsewhere
  • Quoting
    1. During first year as District Sales Manager, communicate all requests for quotation to VP of Sales or Inside Sales Manager for help with quoting.
    2. During second year and beyond, prepare quotes for items in stock and submit to customers, copying VP of Sales.  Work with VP of Sales to prepare all contract agreements or quotes where inventory must be purchased specifically for the order.
    3. ALL quotes should be prepared and submitted to customers in a timely fashion.  Quotes for standard items should be completed and submitted to customers on same day as RFQ; contracts and non-standard items should be completed and submitted to customers within one week of RFQ.
    4. Provide detailed feedback of quotation results to VP of Sales.
  • Entertain existing and prospect accounts with lunches, dinners, events and other entertainment in a manner appropriate to the potential volume of business.

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Metallurgy or an area of study related to metals.

 

Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Customer Service Representative or Outside Sales Representative in a Metal Service Center is required.

 

                                                 

Job Description

OWLogistics, a division of the Oscar Winski Company, is looking for an individual to take on the Dock Lead role in order to support our logistics customer-GE.  This position will lead a broad range of material handling support functions for the customer.  This role will be located at GE’s Lafayette Engine Center location, and is a first shift position.

 The essential functions of the job include:

  • Move and stock materials and assemblies to, and between, plant locations.
  • Unload and unpackage materials, and store or place them in proper locations within assigned areas as required.
  • Maintain areas in a neat and orderly fashion (6S standards).
  • Replenish 2 bin systems, and assembly locations.
  • Receive, store, or issue materials, products, or assemblies.  Count, weigh, and verify identification of materials, parts, products or assemblies.
  • Make production order kits from parts lists, or kit BOM, and issue to location.
  • Perform kit, and rack audits, track, and report shortages to the program material leaders.
  • Be proficient in the use of all powered industrial equipment.
  • Handle all non-conforming material, and the proper disposition through GE’s systems.
  • Remove and handle all trash, sort into proper waste streams and trash handling equipment.
  • Load, unload trucks, and stage material to the proper location on the dock.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in all warehouse, logistics activities
  • MS Office skills
  • Comfort in working with customer’s WMS system to pick, receive, and store material
  • Perform GE data transactions, familiarity with GE systems
  • Set up, and request domestic and international shipments
  • Track record of excellent safety, quality, as well as a being a self starter
  • Lean manufacturing training/experience

  • Replenishment system training/experience (push/pull/Kanban strategies

JOB SUMMARY:

Our e-Recycling team is looking to add a motivated, results-driven Business Development Manager to drive our sales and marketing efforts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in prospecting, securing, and retaining new customers in the field of electronics recycling or associated industries/markets. This position will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for profitable growth in our E-recycling service offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Create, present, implement, monitor, and report on prospecting and sales strategies and set priorities/initiatives for yourself and the sales associates.
  • Establish market intelligence reporting process for our core markets and products, enabling us to be responsive to industry and product dynamics. Report on changing customer demands and changes in technology usage. Recommend programs to respond to these changes.
  • On-going servicing of customer needs and exploration/alignment of new service opportunities to foster growth.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelors Degree (desired, not required).
  • 4 + years in a sales management role, IT sales experience is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Strong communication and decision making abilities.

We are hiring for a mechanic in our Metals Recycling division. This is an exciting time to join our team as we are adding and updating equipment to our current capabilities. This is a full-time day shift position.

The mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service.

Mechanic Job Responsibilities:

·   Tracks and records detailed recordings of each machine

·   Preform preventive maintenance services

·   Responsible for the general maintenance of each machine

·   Communicates with Maintenance Manager to schedule routinely maintenance

·   Responsible for the general up-keep and cleanliness of shop and surrounding area

·   Welds and repairs equipment when necessary

·   Maintains inventory

·   Operates company truck to go on service calls

·   May be assigned to other duties as necessary

Mechanic Knowledge/Skills:

·   Must be flexible and willing to adapt

·   Must display the ability to problem solve

·   Must be able to shield metal arc weld

·   Must have knowledge with 12-24 volt systems

·   Needs to have a basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems

·   The ability to read schematics is a plus

·   Excellent oral and written communication skills required

Mechanic Job Requirements:

·   High School Diploma or Equivalent, required

·   Valid driver’s license

·   Post-secondary education, preferred

 

We are seeking qualified candidates for a truck driver position.  Qualified candidates will operate company-owned and well maintained equipment (our vehicle maintenance facility is on site). Various driving shifts are available. Drivers return home every night. Valid CDL and at least two years commercial vehicle driving experience is required.

The job is primarily independent with direction provided by the Logistics Manager or shift supervisor.  Our team of professional drivers play a key role in providing on-going support for our customers to operate their businesses.
